Award-winning wedding band and entertainment hire service, Music HQ, have been collecting data on the songs most beloved and often requested by their clients. The Wales-based music service has looked over the data to find their top 5 first dance requests across all weddings.

To many couples, the first dance has become an important part of the wedding day and an iconic part of the reception. As such, many couples put a lot of weight and thought into their choice of song. Many of them may even have trouble choosing a great first song to dance to.

In their latest blog post, Music HQ has taken the time to publish their report of the top 5 First Dance Requests as one of the UK’s leading suppliers of live wedding and event music. The list is as follows:

5. Iris - G00 G00 Dolls
4. Better Half of Me - Tom Walker
3. Perfect - Ed Sheeran
2. The One - Kodaline
1. Just You and I - Tom Walker

Music HQ has published the list as a way to help those planning their wedding get some inspiration if they’re having trouble selecting their own first song for the wedding reception. They also offer advice on choosing a band to perform the first dance song for all wedding days.

Rather than working as a traditional music booking agency, Music HQ does more than simply listing and promoting acts for a fee. The team of music industry specialists creates, develops, and manages the acts. These acts can then only be booked directly and exclusively through Music HQ, This exclusive approach to managing their wedding and events acts allows clients access to a large roster of talent, all managed through a single point of contact within the Client Support team.

Headed by those with first-hand music industry experience, Music HQ aims to offer a music hire service that provides quality above all else, and have won a Welsh Wedding Award for Best New Business in response.
