Some of the world’s best grommet surfers have returned to Lennox Head from July 7 – 12th 2017, to compete in, The Skullcandy Oz Grom Open presented by Vissla. Anchor Chief is proud to be a sponsor of this year’s event.

In 2017, the event will enter its sixth year on the junior calendar and has featured one of the strongest surfer line-ups across the age groups from under 12 to 16 year olds. The even is considered by many as one of the premier junior surfing events on the calendar.

In a similar vein to preceding years, where the event has attracted surfers from ten different countries, a full international field has again lined up in 2017 with surfers coming from ten different countries as far away as Europe and Japan.

This year Vissla has joined forces to present the 2017 event, inking a long-term deal with event organisers. Anchor Chief is also proud to be associated with the 2017 event which is being held in close beach proximity to their flag ship store in Ballina Street, Lennox Head.

The event is broadcast live around the world and this year will have the added feature of drone cameras to add to the spectacular action. It is rated as the best Junior Competition in the world.

All event divisions will be broadcast live on the Skullcandy Oz Grom Open website.
